Re: Dr Who

Wow! I loved it. Absolutely wonderful. A real breath of fresh air all round. As much as I enjoyed the David Tennant era, it was becoming very clear that Russell T Davies had run out of ideas and the last series and specials felt very tired. I thought both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were glorious: t...

Re: Mark's 'Crooked House': a ghost story with Derren and others

Yes the whole point was that it was three linked tales and supposed to be viewed that way. I wonder who thought it would be good feature length? I can't believe it was Mark. I've just listened to the commentary, and practically the first thing Mark says is that the 90 minute version was their prefe...

Well, I'm not suggesting you have to pretend to be happy, just that you reserve judgement until you've actually seen him... It just seems to resemble the hysteria surrounding the decision to cast Daniel Craig as James Bond - and look how well that turned out! And I agree with you that (the pairing o...

Well I personally have been a bit astonished by some of the OTT reactions I've read online to the casting announcement. I know there was some very personal criticism of David Tennant when he got the job, but that's nothing compared to some of the bile that's been directed at Matt Smith! Why don't we...

No it didn't work at all, did it?

I think part of the problem is that it was very flatly directed - and the design just looked so cheap... The bedroom set for instance.

Plus we're obviously supposed to find the Clone cute and endearing - and I just thought he was irritating.

According to GTJW on the localshop site, the BBC didn't want Lucifer to be morally ambiguous, and Mark wasn't prepared to compromise his vision of the character.

I would put money on Julian Rhind-Tutt being Lucifer Box in the TV adaptation.

I'm so sure of it.
Apparently there isn't going to be a TV adaptation anymore unfortunately. :(

No, they didn't order me to take it down in the first email but they probably would have. They kind of said "your site has been brought to our attention and we're the official peeps and you've done this stuff and we're not happy meh meh meh" and I just don't have the fight in my any more for a long...

Just to let you know Simon and Schuster have waded in and I've had to close down luciferbox.com. You know I've had these problems with official people before in other fandoms. They just hate fan-run sites! When they emailed me, I just thought: again? Really? No idea why this is as you'd think it wa...

I didn't see Mark there myself, but other people on Rufus' official forum have posted to say he was there.

A Rufus fan's posted the whole number including the dedication on youtube now too.

Rufus Wainwright at Kenwood House - July 5th

Did anyone else go to see Rufus on Saturday?

He was absolutely brilliant. Great set and his voice sounded better than ever. He also introduced a new song - based on a Shakespearean sonnet and dedicated it to "Mark and Ian - who just got married".

Coincidence, do you think or what???

Well to be fair that article is a year old now - it's not exactly fresh news. And I think it's the journalist who assumed Mark would be playing Lucifer, not BBC.

Has there been any more news on this by the way? It seems to have gone very quiet.

It's on "Listen Again" now - or at least it was yesterday as that's how I heard it. It made me smile that amongst all the people at the end who were saying how devastated they were and that it was criminal that it was closing, Mark & Steve sounded much more matter of fact about it all!
