It's weird...even though I've watched the first episode countless times, watching it tonight somehow felt like the first time. :?
Still as funny as it was 5+ years ago!

I've managed to convert a few new fans!

WE\'REALIVE

In the begining was the word and the word was...local.

Post by WE\'REALIVE » Wed May 04, 2005 7:15 am

I loved listening and watching it. Because I always have the commentaries on when I'm watching it on DVD so it was nice to listen to it. I found myself saying most of the words like Pauline's " You can shout out as many ideas as you like, Ross. You're never gonna get one, you worthless dole scum" and " We didn't burn him!"

I feel that I'm losing my own life and turning into the different characters. I might be moody one day and find a gun in my pocket (wink wink). Or, I might just decide to take up teaching the unemployed with added meanness.

The only thing they've done, which I think ruins it, is that they sort of put it on the wrong date. OK, it's only less than a month till the film comes out but if they put it on the twenty-first, or something, then it would be sorta perfect. Does anyone get what I mean?

I started rewatching the second series this week, every moment of the LofG is pure brilliance to me, pretty much the high water mark for comdedy to me. When the Denton's have their 'naked day'nd make Benjamin strip, he he he, and Val's breasts with her hair circling around them, and her massive pubic patch, all very disturbing, very wonderful...

Started watching Series one on the beeb - which I assume they're re-showing because of the imminent release of the film. (Finally caught up with the trailer - brilliant brilliant brilliant! Michael Winner in Freaks! Ghidrah! I'm sure its going to be reference heaven - as well as hilarious and horrible). Finally got The Wicker Man refs in Episode One. I still love the topiary toad outside the Dentons. Enjoyed episode 2 last night . Particularly liked the symmetry between Iris and Judee. The weeing infant on the estate - the weeing statue in Judee's garden. Every time you watch you see something new. Pure genius!
