i bought it this week, and i love LOG! i worship them, i watch their dvds and read the books over and over again but i have to say ...ABY is actually quite disappointing.
I found the first act very.....patchy, it jumped about, and a lot of the stuff wasnt very funny.
Second act got a bit more interesting and i did like it but i was quite let down by this.

i would have killed to see ABY live but i never got into LOG until after it finished.
I know wha you mean though, there are many differences between concert live and taped but i still think even if i was there, it might have been a bit funnier but the first act wasnt as stable as the second, it seemed like they were trying to get round as many characters as they could before they began the main show.
anyways, it was a good dvd after all the randomness and dotting about of act 1

Val what you're saying there is a very valid point though. It did seem a bit like they were trying to cram in as many characters as possible and sort of loosely link them in. Didn't really come off as well as it could have- however it was still funnier live. Thing is when you're there in the theatre you don't tend to sit there and analyse it so much.

i wish they would do another live act
even though it wasnt as good as drury lane i still liked it.
bring on their new material and more tours
although i wanna see more of Pam Dooves, surely they can add her into new material

Yep I agree it was funnier live than on DVD, it was a really a need to be there to enjoy it thing. Having been there makes it funnier watching it DVD, than it would be just seeing the DVD alone I guess.
I REALLY enjoyed it when we went and saw it, but was suprised how much I had forgotton in the intervening year.

I was gutted i couldn't see it live, but i still LOVED the DVD. Although i can completely understand why lots of you guys prefered it live-i probably would have too!

I am now mesmerised by tartan and grey cloth. I am impressed! *drool* Damn dark pants and loose shirt!
Ok, so i've watched ABY up to Papa's bit and I loved it, purely because I have missed the league so much...some of it was a little hit and miss, but some was brilliant!!!
Question: What is the song playing when Ross comes on stage? Its a classical piece right? hmmmmm

I think its the Darth Vader theme from Star Wars...

No they didn't get the rights to use that so they had to change it for the dvd.
don't know what it is, I sure someone else will know

Well I finally watched!
I liked the 2nd half better than the first. And I think I enjoyed Drury Lane a bit more overall, but it still had it's great points. Seeing it live would have made it so much better.
Hehe... Tubbs: "McDonalds! McDonalds! Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut!"
That had me laughing so hard - I used to sing that song when I was younger

I need to watch it again. Haven't seen any league stuff for ages.
