The extras are:
Behind the scenes doc, extended interviews from the behind the scenes doc, multi-angle shots of episode 4, commentaries on all episodes by Reece and Steve with various others and a photo gallery. Think that's it. Don't think there is any easter eggs or anything. :)
What, what??

Son of Tubbs returns! wrote:This has unfolded over seven weeks nicely and then suddenly in the last 3 minutes everything is wrapped up,I remember looking at the clock at about 10.22 and thinkng maybe this episode was longer than the other because it was wrapping it up the story, but no it was all done quickly at the end.
I totally agree - I was really enjoying the last episode until I noticed how close to the end of the episode it was before the explanations! I thought it was all a bit too tidy - plus, it was far too obvious the way they went for a Theatre of Blood style "she's not dead!" thing - knowing their influences, surely everyone expected that (though the Phibes burnt face was a nice touch): I actually thought it was far too obvious and they wouldn't do it, so was a bit disappointed when they did. I guess I needed another "reveal" after that that was cleverer and tidied it up a bit more. The whole bomb thing was just too easy.

Also, Reece at the NFT said they explained everything, but then added in a few possibilities for a second series - well, they left far too many loose ends not to get a second series, so they bloody better had! I want to know more about Kerry and the locket! Also, did they ever explain why Robert was in the hospital in the first place? I'm assuming it was all Kerry, but what's with her obsession with him in the first place? I want to know more of the back story! You can't just start with him having delusions etc as on the case file, dammit! They explained properly for all the other characters.

All in all, I enjoyed it, but I did feel slightly short-changed by the final episode, as did teh bloke. Ho hum. Have they announced anything about a second series yet??

In the commentaries, the lads seem to sound like they either already know they have a second series, or they are really gonna push for a second! Or they are just being really sarcastic and I misunderstood!

Since it was released on my birthday, it arrived at my door on that special morning :D
How the devil did you get two days before the release date you jammy thing?

Glad I got it early for the lovely fold-out package rather than waiting and most likely being lumped with a boring old ordinary DVD case. Have yet to peruse the extras ('twas my 18th after all) but certainly will in the coming days. Huzzah!

I have no idea how I got it early, think amazon were just being kind to me, think the price must have been dropped to as they gave me a 30p refund  Don't know what I will spend it on!
Hope you had a nice birthday! :D

Most probably the latter. I've listened to everything, and I think those little nods to the possibility of a second series are just born from the absolute want to get another one commissioned. On the Guardian's review for the last episode too, the reviewer mentions that they "asked the BBC yesterday" (July 29th) about the possibility of another run, but just got told "no news". Here's hoping!

P.S. Anyone who's watched the extras on the DVD know why, at the end of the Black Gloved Man's extended interview, it says "To be continued...?"? And any news on easter eggs too? I can't find aaanny...

"There are no easter eggs on this DVD." I had this reply from 2Entertain - the company that made the Psychoville dvd. Also - there are no plans for a second series.

I think Reece and Steve have just had their series screened at an awkward time. When it was commisioned the BBC actually had a Head of Comedy. She's since flown the nest to go to Sky and there is a vacancy so even Stewart Lee hasn't heard whether he has a second series or not. I imagine the Reece and Steve are in similar limbo.

I think, if they want one, they will get one but nobody is in the position to tell them for definite.

Ahh, interesting info there - would explain the overwhelming hesitancy...
And welcome to the forums, by the way!

Thank you :D

It is just a theory but based on what Lee has said(and looking at websites like Chortle-no new BBC comedy has been comissioned for a couple of months) I hope that is the reason for the delay rather that avoiding an outright "No"

Have avoided this thread because I was out the night it was on and have only just managed to watch it due to wedding shenanigans etc. Have to say a big YAY!!!! Ok so not everything was tied up and that will be beyond awful if no second series is made so I think they were a bit reckless to do that, but most things were and to me it was really satisfying. I didn't guess who it was so maybe I'm stupid but I'm glad it was a surprise. I thought it could be David or Nurse Kenshington herself. I think they did an excellent job. Although I'm assuming a melon really wouldn't stop a bullet at such close range! It was a really funny episode too. Can't wait for the dvd now. Will buy it to peruse on my week off I think. I can wait!

Wasn't it just that he thought he had the telekinetic powers? Why can't he just have delusions as a reason to be in there? Although I suppose if Kerry really is telekinetic then you're right that she must have been involved from the start. The ending with him and the locket was really the only thing that frustrated me. But I suppose it just means there must be a second series or we storm the BBC!

Just ploughing through the DVD commentries which have been brilliant thus far, but just watched the one for episode 4 and it's superb. Being shown how they did it in one long take and all the tricks the used and the reasoning behind the whole episdes and the inspiration for it give you a whole new way of looking at it.

If there isn't a second series of this it will be a crime!

Agreed! There has to be a second series.
I might have to listen to the commentaries again now.
Actually that reminds me, does anyone have trouble hearing the other people in the room on the commentaries? I can hear Steve and Reece fine but have trouble hearing anybody else. I watched it in surround sound and wondered if I have to listen through a different sound field. Tried most of them though. Anybody else have any suggestions?? I might just be being thick.

I think there was someting wrong with there equipment when they recorded the commentries on the third person always seem like they are a long way from the mic to me.Sometimes you just can't hear what they are saying.

I wouldn't say they sound flat and wrong but I was a little disappointed. Didn't have the funniness of the old League ones and were more like your general commentaries. I guess that comes when you have previously done the best commentaries of all time! Maybe they missed the cameradie of four funny creatives reminiscing etc together.

Had no problem with the sound though myself.
