ah, Benjamin! wrote:We have a bus service called the Local Link in Nottingham, which has "The Local Bus for Local People", and also a Pub which reads"a Local Pub for Local People". Surely that can't be coincidence? Maybe it's an advertising scheme.
That is pretty much the greatest thing in the universe. Like jumping up and down, clap your hands and covet the precious things, great.

I was at work the other day and we were discussing two potential employees who we need to re-interview next week to chose between them. I asked the stupid question.

"Are they local?"

My entire team (about 11 people) came back with "They'll never leave!"

I wasn't even thinking about the League! Honestly! What's happening to the world...
And I'll stay here till the trail's cold and return again with my meaty gold
You want it! You can't get enough of Hilary Briss and his special stuff...

I live in Germany - I still can't get over people saying "Alles Klar?"

Ignore the one on the left, I think his dad was in a band or something hence he gets into free parties and that. Hardly worth our mention. Pay attention to zee othzer feegures.

You wonder where Papa goes to collect his wives? Well check out the rings on Karl Lagerfeld and his somewhat unconvincing facial pallour and flamboyant Keith Drop style fashion. What perfect way to accumulate ladies than to be head of a fashion house that specialises in black and white clothing with bright shiny gold accessories? Flawless plan really.

Unconvinced? Well the chick in the middle is called Irina Lazareau and is the current favourite model at Chanel. But note the Frenchified spelling of her name - see - coincidink? I think not. Apparently she grew up in Quebec and that is home to the most famous of all circus groups, Cirque De Soleil. Once again - no-incidink.

When Chanel unveil their new 3 legged dog fashion, we may be able to notify Interpol. :)

In summary - stay safe and buy YSL.

I was at the Dr's this morning & I got prescribed Betnovate.

All I could hear in my head was Bernice! 'I'm like the Betnovate rubbed on the eczema of peoples day to day suffering.'

I must of looked amused cos the Doc asked me what was funny & I said 'oh nothing just, some tv thing. I'm a big LofG fan.'

To which she replied 'Go out would you!...I've always wanted to say that!'

And I see they’ve used Corian, very nice
Popular forum restaurant critic takes a remark straight from Reenie.

Corian I assume is middle-class formica. Or summick. Coren is being a boastful prick as always - he seems so nice on telly with Sue. I think telly is made-up. :)

The best columnist in Teh Times is Caitlin Moran. Fact! But I digress ... expensive handbags are WRONGE though. :)

Telly lies to me all the time, too. It says that peoples can do flying and mind reading and explodings, but they can't! I tried to move a pencil with my brian and nothing happened! Rotten telly.
Hello my darling it's me again. Where are you?

It could get funnier if we keep doing it.

I was in the Bethlem archives yesterday, going through the casebooks from 1889, and came across one patient who was worrying about whether she'd be able to have any more babies on admission, as she declared to the doctors: "My insides are all wrong!"

Hehe.

(as an aside, because I always worry about the fate of patients I get fond of, she was apparently cured of her melancholia in about 9 months and discharged well)
"I've been in love with the morbid, ebony-black grotesqueness of the 19th century since I was knee-high to a funeral mute."
