It just there is a good flight to America at quite a reasonable price when i want to go, or I could pay a little more and go on Virgin, which I will know will be ok.

How much more if you don't mind me asking?
Check the leg room, the entertainment you get (like DVDs, music etc..) how long it's going to be.
You can always drop the price of a plane flight by saying you don't want food. Me and my Mum got our plane tickets reduced by £20 each just by getting rid of the meal, and we're only going to Italy so it would have been a crappy snack thing.

Weigh up the pros and cons and see which one is the best value.

I've just Googled and this came up.

It gives reviews from passengers so read through :D

Its an extra £60.00. I think I may go Virgin anyway. I would scrap the meal but its 12 hour flight, so it will elp pass the time!

GOD yes! It went on for ages! Woke me up and then in the next half hour everyone we know was either ringing or texting us! My friend down the road was threatening to sleep in her car with her kids, she was so scared!
And I'll stay here till the trail's cold and return again with my meaty gold
You want it! You can't get enough of Hilary Briss and his special stuff...

 I felt the Birmingham one in about 2003 too so I knew what it was. It was still a little heart-racing though. I'd really like to experience one in the day rather than being woken up by one just to experience it properly. It's such a strange feeling!

Yeah we felt it quite a bit actually, it woke me up i'd just gone to bed! I too had felt the one a few years back so knew what it was straight away, but yeah it was far scarier then that one. It seemed to go on for ages as well, it just felt so weird. My boyfriend scared the shit out of me though cos he just jumped out of bed and went "EARTHQUAKE!!"
