Due South

Post by Papalaz » Tue May 17, 2005 10:05 pm

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN MADE INTO A THREAD YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my most favorite television shows, ever!

Of course it hasn't been on in years and they haven't realesed a R2 DVD yet. Though I have both season 1 and season 2 on R1 DVD. I would get season 3 but that's when Callum Keith Rennie (Two League based names...) took over as Ray.

Anyway, I'd like to know if any of you remember how good Due South was.

(By the way it was a COMEDY-Drama so I might get away with posting it in this thread)

God, I adored that show. It did come out on PAL VHS didn't it? But never on DVD. Loved the one when Benton Frasier shot Ray (the proper Ray). So tragic. Sarah McLauclin (sp?) did the music didn't she?

He's not TEH SEXXOR though. Not evil enough. Benny was a GOOD guy. :D

Oh I didn't know that had to be the case...

Anyway here's a really good Due South site that's actually updated quite often:

Due South was great! What was the wolf called?

They are oceans apart"

Diefenbaker.

If you have a DVD player that can play R1 DVDs then I can let you borrow Due South if you want, Ms Tender.

I liked the show, loved the theme tune.

(But I will always love Northern Exposure more.)
(Not that they should necessarily always be compared to each other.)
(Just because they both involved a lot of snow.)

Just thought i'd say (even thought i never watched this show) in Canada loads of people HATE this show cos it fulfills every cliche about Canadians for US audiences - like the RCMP wear dress uniforms at all times. Sadly they don't. It is the Monarch of the Glen of Canada.

And i don't fancy the guy in it - he was on the telly t'other day and has gone really fat.

Still - the dog is cool.

I liked this show too. Was so in love with Paul Gross. Had a real fetish for Mounties for ages afterwards!

Ray was cool but am I remembering it wrong or did he change actors like half way through? :?

Yeah, originally it was David Marciano but he didn't like his 'role' in the show and so they brought in Callum Keith Rennie to replace him.

Oh and by the way, that new 'Crash' film is written by none other than Paul Haggis the creator of Due South!

all i remember is a whole lot of snow, some sexy red mounty uniform, and a large dog...(was he blind or am i crazy in the brain?).
'Beg me Ross, beg me like a little doggy'
'Please do as he says, and don't make him angry - he can do things!' ..we can only dream of those things.....
'typical..absolutely typical....this is exactly how nazi germany started!'
