Lee & Herring

Post by Beast » Tue Jul 26, 2005 2:53 pm

Hi guys!

I'm new here. I'm obsessed with the League obviously. But it's hard to find current discussions to join so thought I'd set up a new thread (though non League-related).

Are there any fans of Lee and Herring out there? They did two different tv shows in the 90s. Fist of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy (TMWRNJ) and were amazing. It's a travesty that they aren't on tv anymore. I miss them. Favourite quotes:

"Saying it in a high voice doesn't make it any more true"

and

"Aaaahhh!" (which will mean nothing to people who don't know them! :) )

If you love Herring that much, he's gigging in london on the 30th, go to the "James Byron" or something like that thread just a bit further down in this section :D

I adored TMWRNJ and Fist of Fun.

I have a Rod Hull obsession thanks to them

Oh, and I luff Kevin Eldon because of them.

Gawd I miss Lee and Herring.

James Byron was a guy who went to my school! How strange!
Stewart does loads of gigs in London too. It's a bit far to go though you know especially when they aren't gigging as a duo. Went to see them in 1998. It was amazing.

PNW, my boyfriend quite often does really bad impressions of Kevin Eldon doing Rod Hull! It can be quite embarrassing!! :D

He's always shouting "I AM ROD HULL! I AM HIM!" and "Is it greeen?" while swinging his arm about in a fake manner!

Stewart Lee's stand up is quite good. I saw him at Glastonbury one year and he was great!

When I was at school my friend brought in a false arm and put it up her blazer and no one noticed. Was so funny. We were so obsessed with Rod too. I love Simon Quinlank though:

You've met the actor Kevin Eldon?!!! Aaah so jealous. I love him! I kinda met Stewart after the show I went to see. Well basically I said hello to him but it's something! Wrote to them and Kevin and had letters back from them. Kevin wrote me one as Simon Quinlank and one as himself. So nice.
