I LOVED it!! I liked the twists and turns and everything, I am still trying to get my head around Mercy and Shirley and Carter though, really got me that!! The only bit I didnt like was the ending because I really liked Shirley and it shouldnt have ended like that haha but thats one of the only things I didnt like about it! It had some brilliant writing but it did make me wonder what kind of stuff must be going through a person's mind to be able to write stuff like that haha

Thankyou Jeremy and Simon for the wonderful gift to television that was Funland. Overall, despite not really liking the actor who played Carter *that* much, the series was amazing. I didn't see any of the twists coming although when it got closer to the finale I did predict who was in the monkey suit, but not the way in which it was revealed, which was perfect. I had a real lump in my throat on that final shot of the series and i'm glad they kept some of the endings wide open. If they did more of it then brilliant, but if not then it's nice to have things left open to speculation as it feels more real.

The only bit I missed was who exactly was Kevin Eldon's character? My frind rang me at that point and I shouted at them. I'd need to see it again to fully understand, but 'I heard its coming on the beeb in the autumn' [/Edgar Fish] well later in the year/new year.

:D I just read on the Yahoo group that the DVD is going to be a March release, but there's no news on extras yet.

I agree about Shirley, I also think that just as much as he *had* to die, Carter kind of *had* to live on as he had his future ahead of him with Lola...it was like how I was taught Shakespeare plays always end with the character who is going to carry on the line or the story into the future being the one to end the play on. Brilliant.

Whoooooooooooo! YAY!! Good news about the extras on the DVD!

But sadly no BAFTA for Jezza...I just tuned in in time...I did see lovely smiley, cheesy-grinning Jezza with a bit of a beard at his table breifly. Ah well, they can still put a "BAFTA nominated" sticker on the DVD now

Papa's new wife wrote:Jez's beard was very good, as was his hair.

I'm gutted for him, but that smile was so lovely (and quite frankly very well acted)!
Awww..I had to refrain from actually shouting out comments about his hair as I didn't want any more strange looks today!

I love the fact Jezza grins almost constantly...he's like the polar opposite of Reece somehow...erm...anyway...

I haven't been quite sure what to make of Funland. Watched the second and third episode after missing the first one and couldn't get into it. I felt like I'd missed too much.

The characters are all really interesting though. It's a bit like Blackpool but a lot darker and without the dancing.

That's sort of how my b/f describes it, heh!

It's on at a stupid time here. I keep missing it because someone else is always hogging the TV  I guess I could tape it, but I keep forgetting about it, LOL! Oooh well... My b/f will get the DVD from the UK and will probably make me watch it ;)
