What should I get next?

Post by Localhobbit » Fri Mar 10, 2006 5:38 pm

As a US-er we aren't allowed to laugh very loudly, so our access to Britsh comedy is limited. I'm inclined to think that I should pick up the complete Black Adder, but Only Fools and Horses is considered very highly as well. My collection now is the complete Monty, Bottom, Ab Fab, Black Books, Spaced, Brass Eye, Litt;e Britain, and of course the LofG. What should I order up next?

Between Blackadder and Only fools and Horses, I would advise Blackadder.
Very, very strongly indeed!

AMAZING..I suggest you buy it as soon as time allows and watch it religiously ...along with League.... and Blackadder, then have the pretty dream that accompany it all!

Mighty Boosh is a must see if you like your comedy a bit silly and quirky.

Personally I think it goes with the League very well so why not cheeck it out?

Agreed. Mighty Boosh then Blackadder. I love that show. I think one of my fave liens comes from the fourth series when Captain Darling asks how far they gone and Blackadder replies "We're moving slower than an athsmatic ant with heavy shopping"!!!!

Or something along those lines anyway. I can't be expected to remember everything! :D
"Howard Moon: Explorer"..."I think thats got the wrong ring to it"

Nooo! Blackadder is a classic! Who knows how long the Boosh will last? Much as I have recently come to luff Mr Barrett, I sincerely doubt it can out-stay Blackadder!! :P

Blackadder! Blackadder! Red Dwarf!

But then, I don't even watch this Boosh malarkey.
Hello my darling it's me again. Where are you?

It could get funnier if we keep doing it.

Perhaps you should :D

It's always good to be into something that's happening now, I think. Then you can get excited about a new series, and see them live.

You can't do that with Blackadder. Even though it'll always be one of my favourite ever shows.

I'd still say Blackadder first. Yes, I do love the boosh to PIECES, but Bladders is real classic and very easy to "Get into". Almost everyone loves it, its a secure buy, where as some people find boosh annoying or get destracted by bright colours etc....I'm not sure why they dont like it, I've never understood that :?
Deffentaly get Blackadder at some point, but check out the boosh too. Anyone know a way of seeing some kind of trailer for boosh on the net? You dont want to go and buy the boxset only to find the show gives you migraines.

tee hee. she called it Bladders.

Yeah, good point, if you get Blackadder, you probably shouldn't start with the first series. (They're not related anyway, it's not like you'll miss out if you watch them in the wrong order) I don't think the first is very representative of the whole, er... canon. (too poncey?)
It's just not as funny as the other series'.
