TEDSTOCK - Feb 2007

Post by T Bird » Wed Nov 15, 2006 1:26 pm

I'm on Richard Herring's mailing list and I just got sent this email:

Dear All

Just a quickie to give you info on a couple of things that you might want to get in your new 2007 diaries. Please book ahead for both events as they are likely to sell out.

First up is a benefit gig which will see the first live performance from the defunct double act Lee and Herring since 1999 (I will also be doing a solo set consisting of the "My wife went on holiday routine which has not been performed since 1987- and for good reason). The rest of the bill is pretty blooming incredible too. At time of writing the seetickets allocation has sold out, but there are still limited tickets available from the Bloomsbury Box Office. Book now because this WILL sell out!

TEDSTOCK
Monday February 5th 2007
8pm
Bloomsbury Theatre, London
Tickets from Bloomsbury Theatre 0207 388 8822 / Seetickets 0871 2200260

A benefit to raise money to pay for the production of a 4 cd box set of the complete works of the 1980’s cult comedian ‘Ted Chippington’, whose vaudeville surrealism predated Vic Reeves and whose ultra deadpan delivery and contempt for the very idea of jokes influenced a generation of comics without any of them even knowing who Ted was. Ted Chippington will not be performing or attending the event

Line up

Simon Amstell (Never Mind The Buzzcocks)
Dan Brown (The Davinci Code)
Stephen Carlin (Customs and Excise department)
Kevin Eldon (Hyperdrive)
Richard Herring (Richardherring.com)
Robin Ince (Stuart Foot in The Office)
Phil Jupitas (Porky The Poet)
Stewart Lee (Radio 4's Quote Unquote)
Lee and Herring (Paramount TV's Festival of Fun - 20th anniversary of their first performance on stage together!)
Josie Long (if.comedies winner)
Simon Munnery (The Security Guard)
Alan Parker Urban Warrior (BBC2's Paramount City)

Sounds like it will be great fun.

I just booked some tickets on the theatre's number. All tickets are £20.00.
They've still got seats in all the theatre including the second and third rows from the front! So book now!!!

Oo Robin Ince. I'll have words with a friend of mine and see if she would go along. Also the mentions of Mr. Herring will sure get going to go along.

Oh poor Beast!

Unfortunately I don't have a spare ticket but I will be here with a full report once it's all over. I'll try and send your love vibes to Richard Herring while he's performing too!

I was just on about the new series of Shipwrecked cos he put te 2006 series in his TV bit. He said he's too loyal to 2006 to watch. Unless there are cute girls! Then I mailed him about something in his blog. I just find it funny and want to talk to him about stuff he says in it. Must leave him alone though!

Must be 20th anniversary of them getting together. At uni maybe.

Well he didn't reply the last time. I did put 'You don't have to reply' but obviously I wanted him to. And if he'd have wanted to he would have. I guess he gets loads of messages.

He must get gazillions! He has over 2000 friends and you don't have to be a friend to send messages either.

I almost sent him an email after I saw him at Edinburgh. Wish I had now.

That's the hard part. You want to be witty so he likes you and thinks you're funny but it's a very hard thing to be seen as you're writing to an expert!
