JMHFO: Just My Humble Frickin' Opinion. :)

And yeah, trailers can be total pants. And they are *far* too spoilery these days. Don't get me started on Torchwood and Doctor Who trailers.

I hope The Cottage is good. We've had some fine BritGore films in recent years (Severance, Dog Soldiers etc). Another would be welcome.
And I'll stay here till the trail's cold and return again with my meaty gold

Ahhhh! (Any idea what GYAC means? It's driving me MAD)

I didn't actually like Severence or Dog Soldiers *hides* Or that one with Jamie Bell in the Trenches (was that a British film?)

GYAC

Give yourself a clap
Or could possibly be
Give you a clue (depending on context)
Is occasionally an insult: God you're a c***

And Kate, if you don't like those films, I think you probably won't like The Cottage! It strikes me as being in much the same vein! I certainly wouldn't recommend you to go if I didn't know you liked Reece! And he's not exactly eye-candy in it, is he? :)

Yes the trailer undersells the film in my opinion. By the clips shown & use of the 'Old MacDonald' music :? it makes it look like there is little in terms of originality about the film & overplays the silliness.

The trailer shows nothing of the character interplay & build up to the goriness which makes you care about what happens to them. The film's originality & emotional investment in the characters is nowhere to be seen :(

UPDATE: There is a review of 'The Cottage' in the new issue of 'Starburst' (No. 359) Its the one with 'Cloverfield' on the cover...

The Cottage - official site is up

Postby Geoff Tipps' Joke Writer » Fri Feb 15, 2008 3:52 pm

Google www.pathe.co.uk

(I tried live linking the official site it but doesn't work...probably due to Adobe Flash)

Go to 'Coming Soon', click on 'The Cottage' & then the 'official site' option...

Reminds me what an excellent score the film has too!
